Dr. Rohan A. Gawali


Dr. Rohan A. Gawali is a forensic odontologist and he is the Course in Charge of ‘Certificate Course in Forensic Odontology’ at Dr. D. Y. Patil Dental College & Hospital. Dr. Rohan is given the additional charge as Manager of DPU Foundation for Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship, a Section 8 Company. He is a dynamic personality with expertise in niche areas such as Disaster Management, Forensic Genetics, International Humanitarian Law, Intellectual Property Management, apart from his core domain of Forensic Odontology. He has earned certificates in the field of Innovation and Patenting from renowned institutions such as Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands & Technical University of Denmark, Denmark. Recently he was deployed to an aviation disaster site at Kozhikode, Kerala, India. He was one of the very few Indian experts in the ‘Go Team’ in response to the disaster. He was part of the core recovery team at ground zero of Air India Express Flight AI1344 crash. He is a member of many prominent organizations active in the field of Dentistry, Forensic Odontology and Disaster Management. He speaks extensively at various state and national platforms. He recently received the prestigious ‘Excellence in Forensic Odontology’ award from International Dental Excellence Awards 2020.

Dr. Zafar Azeem


Dr Zafar Azeem, Associate Professor, Dr. D.Y.Patil College of Physiotherapy, Pune, has a rich and diverse experience of over a decade into Physiotherapy practice, research and education. Apart from taking keen interests into developing clinically competent Physiotherapy graduates and researchers at his department, he is involved with DPU Incubation Centre, Pune with specific responsibilities from serving as an expert resource for cultivating a system of entrepreneurship development and Start ups to motivating young researchers at the University to innovate their skills with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Dr Zafar has had a major stint with International Student Affairs at Universities in Delhi and Gujarat wherein his major responsibilities were to attract International students in Indian Universities and create a network of professionals in Internationalising educational systems and cultivate cross cultural diversity in higher educational Institutions.

As a significant member of Start up and Innovation Cell at D.Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, Pune, he was invited as Resource person during “Industrial Motivation Campaign” organised for Physiotherapy students at the college to discuss about basic concepts of entrepreneurship and employability skills requirement in an emerging Physiotherapy entrepreneurship-centric practice model.
